When 28 year old South Korean pianist, Yekwon Sunwoo, made his LMF concert series debut in March, 2017, alongside violinist David Lisker, and cellist Andrei Ionita (winner of the 2016 Tchaikovsky Competition), it was very clear that this was an exception pianist. Little did we know that within a few months, he would go on to win one of the most significant international piano competitions in the world, the 2017 Van Cliburn Piano Competition.
